Westfield Historical Society’s September First Wednesday Luncheon – Cuba: Magical, Vibrant & Passionate
As part of the The Westfield Historical Society’s First Wednesday Luncheon series, Professor John Rossi, will be speaking on the topic of Cuba: Magical, Vibrant & Passionate on September 5th, 2018. The event will begin with check-in at 11:45 am at the Echo Lake Country Club, located at 515 Springfield Avenue, Westfield.
For over 25 years at New York University, Professor Rossi has educated and inspired numerous students on subjects such as South American studies, the Alaskan frontier and, economics and finance. During his tenure at New York University, Professor Rossi has given many lectures and traveled extensively.
Some of his adventures include travel to Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Mexico, Panama, and Alaska. He has published several articles for McGraw Hill and has been a guest speaker on the popular cable program “BIZTECH” where he discussed finance and responded to calls from the viewing audience.
On many occasions, the cruise industry has invited him to present enrichment talks on subjects including: Alaska: The Final Frontier, the Mayan Civilization, and the Panama Canal. He presents a friendly milieu where participants feel comfortable asking questions and sharing experiences. He also volunteers his time teaching seniors basic computer skills at SeniorNet.

Please advise if there are special dietary needs. The luncheon fee of $35 (WHS members) or $40 (non-members) includes a three-course meal, coffee/tea, and gratuity. The luncheon fee should be paid in advance (check payable to Westfield Historical Society) by mailing to Westfield Historical Society, P.O. Box 613, Westfield, NJ 07091; or, online at www.westfieldhistoricalsociety.org/registration/. Payments should be received by Friday prior to the luncheon. Westfield Historical Society memberships will also be available at the luncheon.
The Westfield Historical Society is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Since 1968, the 501(c)(3) non-profit Westfield Historical Society has worked to preserve, interpret and encourage interest in history, Westfield, and its residents through educational efforts and community outreach programs.
